What Customers Say About Speck Products IPHG3-CLR-SEE See Thru for iPhone 3G and 3G S Case (Clear):

The good news is that I contacted Speck and they shipped me out a new unit. My biggest complaint is after only 1 month of use, the bottom of the rubber sides started to slip back and forth.

The case is easy to install and it's great that you can detach the bottom half to dock your phone plus you can use it as a stand for watching a movie on the iphone. I got this case because 1) I did not want a silicon based case which would not slip in and out of my pocket easily, and 2) I wanted a case that showed off the design of the iphone.

I do detach the bottom half every night to put it in my dock, at work I have a spare charger that I hook up directly without having to detach the bottom half, and it is still very secure. There was a reviewer who said that they had a problem with the bottom half being so loose that it comes off even with just picking it up.

I have not experienced that.yet. Apparently the quality of the double-sided adhesive/tape was not that great and already wearing out.

What I might try after I get my new unit is to take the old one, and see if I can completely remove the adhesive and then superglue the rubber directly to the case and see if that holds better.

This case offers very little protection.not worth the money.or the money it cost to return it. Don't bother.

I purchased this from Amazon about 3 weeks back, and from the start had some problems. Apparently just pulling the phone in and out of my pocket is too much for it to handle. This is an awesome feature, and by far makes the case great- however, the friction that keeps the case together wears out quickly. But whatever, you know- that's why its there. This has been a problem for me because there are times I've reached for the phone, the case separates, and I almost drop the phone- half exposed. The problem I have with the case is it's poor quality and build. For instance, before I even installed it, the back has some scratches. Another problem comes from the cases ability to dock, that is, the bottom portion being removable and used as a dock.

Although not completely visible in the pictures, there is a rubber strip along the edge of the case that helps improve grip. Its a great add-on, however, its stuck with glue that has been peeling off within a week of owning. And often, when picking it up, the case will separate. A scary scary thought.I don't often write reviews, but I'm online now shopping for another iPhone case, and felt compelled to explain why after dropping $30+ 3 weeks ago for a case, I'm about to spend another $30+ more on another.

I'm sure that with continued use that the case will get plenty more scratches on it. I received this item only a few hours ago. But I quickly realized that the product is not flimsy but is instead thin and flexible. The first is that the case had some fine scratches on the back before I even opened it. The same effect happens with this case, and it makes the back of the white iPhone appear to have dirty spots. It protects the iPhone 3G but still allows the phone's beauty to show through.

My other "complaint" is that places where the plastic of the case and the plastic of the back cover touch are ugly. My first reaction was "Hmmm, seems flimsy". Sure, the case is there primarily to protect the iPhone from damange, but I think the secondary purpose of the case is to be attractive. The bottom half of the case can be slid off and used as a stand for holding your iPhone while you watch a movie on it. This feature is also useful if you have an iPhone dock that only fits if the iPhone does not have a case on it.I have two complaints. It's hard to describe, but it's kind of like those things you had as a kid -- black waxy cardboard with a light gray sheet of plastic on top that you would "draw" on and then later clear the drawing by pulling up the plastic.

This may not be as much of a problem with a black iPhone.
